Ningbo Daily: "DZICS" Equips Robots with Sensitive "Brains"
2013-04-19

Ningbo Daily (Reporter Zhou Yaqiong, Correspondent Gao Ning) Not long ago, Ningbo DZICS Industrial Robot Technology Co., Ltd. officially signed a cooperation agreement with a manufacturing enterprise in Beilun for the production line's six-axis robot. Dai Xiang, the company's general manager, told reporters that DZICS will collaborate with the internationally renowned robot company ABB from Sweden to develop six-axis robot products. ABB will provide the robot body, while DZICS will independently handle the software R&D and design. Currently, the preliminary design of this robot product has been completed, and several similar projects are progressing simultaneously.

The six-axis robot is a relatively high-precision product in the field of industrial robots. As a local private enterprise in Beilun, why has DZICS been able to receive numerous "olive branches" from manufacturers? Dai Xiang explained that this is due to the company's fully independent software development capabilities, which allow it to promptly meet customers' personalized needs in robot applications with great flexibility.

Dai Xiang's confidence is well-founded. Reporters learned that Dai developed a car instrument control microcontroller (software) with independent intellectual property rights as early as the 1990s, with annual production exceeding 800,000 units, once occupying the majority of the domestic market share. Six years ago, Dai entered the industrial automation industry, recruiting a group of professionals in robot software and hardware development. Over the years, the company has invested tens of millions in R&D.

DZICS's software development capabilities are fully demonstrated in its current main industrial robot product—the CNC machine tool manipulator. In 2009, DZICS independently developed the "Automatic Feeding Manipulator for CNC Machine Tools," featuring a customized software system development platform and a fault self-diagnosis system. The robot software solutions cover detection, measurement, imaging, image analysis, and other aspects, not only meeting customers' changing needs but also ensuring the manipulator's stability, safety, efficiency, and security during processing. At the time, its technical level was among the top in China, and the product obtained a national utility model patent.

Today, the company's R&D in CNC machine tool manipulators has become increasingly "refined." According to different product types, it has developed over 10 varieties, including "Small Stepped Shaft Feeding Processing," "Gear Shaft Feeding Processing," and "Bicycle Hub Feeding Processing." DZICS's manipulator products are widely applicable and can be standardized and mass-produced.

It is reported that the company has established partnerships with many well-known CNC machine tool manufacturers across the country. Its manipulator series products are widely used in automation field enterprises and hold a leading market share in the domestic industry.
